Medusa's transformation

She was once very beautiful and lived far in the north were the sun didn't visit. Being very curious, she wanted to see the sun, and asked the Goddess Athena for permission to visit the south. Athena refused to allow her to visit. Medusa got angry and dared to say that Athena hadn't given her permission because she was jealous of her beauty. that wasn't very smart. Athena was angered and punished her by turning her hair into snakes and cursing her by making her so ugly that who ever looked into her eyes would turn into stone.

I have no idea why I am obsessing with Medusa but I just really wanted to draw her I know I did one when there was that whole tshirt contest thing But that one was digital so here she is again there may be a few more coming. I have to say though her story is kinda sad she just wanted to see the sun why does Athena have to be soo mean!! leave Medusa Alone!!
